Waste pickers’ contributions to our economy and environment are significant, but still, they are a neglected community, even in an educated state like Kerala in India. Thanal is working towards bringing the waste pickers of Trivandrum, India into mainstream society and into an organized fold which would help them secure basic safety and health insurance facilities and improve their quality of life.
